Last Days in Florida

Two days ago was another beach day, and this time everyone went. I actually got some sun! More burnt than brown, but ya know, I'll take what I can get. The remnants of our castle and mine were still standing, so the mine was cleared and a second one was dug, and then the two were connected. Steven had to sit in the hole and dig with his feet. Good thing it didn't collapse! Jeffrey made Ryan a giant foot. The rest of the time was spent in and out of the water and laying in the sun.

Yesterday was an uneventful day; we just sat around the house all day, watched TV, played some games, etc. But I guess that's what vacation is for. You need some relaxing time too. Even if you should really be studying for Biochemistry instead of relaxing. Maybe I can convince my professor to move our exam to next Friday...

Today Michael and I went to the Jacksonville Zoo. It's a very nice zoo; there was a wide variety of animals, and all the animals had plenty of space to run/swim/fly around. Michael was really excited about the monkeys; I pretty much just thought everything was cute. We also saw Kazoo's cousins! Michael and I also went back to the beach to get some shells for a little project idea I had...but that's a surprise. ;-) We got Oreo milkshakes from this little pizza place called "The Loop;" I definitely recommend it...they were excellent. Everyone reconvened for dinner at a microbrewery called Seven Bridges. Good food, good beer; comparable to Rock Bottom Brewery, actually (but Rock Bottom is better...just because I'm biased).

And that's all for our trip. We're getting up at 5:30 and leaving sometime between 6 and 6:30. Why am I still awake? I don't know. I'm really, really sad to leave the ocean, and really not excited to go back to class and homework and reading and exams. How much longer until summer? Hopefully there will be more adventures then, even if they're small ones, so I can post again!
